Hi!
I am using Windows 7 in my desktop computer. My CPU is core 2 duo 2.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. From a long time I am facing several problems caused by unwanted malware/ virus/ spyware. My computer became slower and slower. It takes a long time to start and shut down. Sometimes it gets stuck with a program and shows a blue screen.
I am not using any Antivirus or internet security. What can I do to fix my problem? Should I use internet security and what should I buy for this? There are different software's in our local market. Such as Kaspersky, Norton and NOD32. Please consider my problem and give a solution.

First thing to consider is to perform a check disk to your computer. There is already bad sectors or unreadable portions of your drive. These errors will dramatically reduce the overall performance of your computer. Check disk will search for potential errors and recover lost file and locking those unreadable portions of the hard disk so it cannot be filled with data in the future. To do a check disk, please follow the instructions below.

Open My Computer

Right click on the drive you wanted to check for example drive C:.

Select properties

On the properties, select Tools

Look for an error checking and click check now.

A dialog box will appear that contain 2 check boxes. You can select any of the 2 or both then click start.

A message box will appear that you cannot perform the action unless the computer is restarted.

Restart the computer.
When your computer is being restarted and is about to load the operating system it will first proceed to check disk in a blue screen environment. You can still cancel the check disk by pressing escape button on your keyboard but it is strongly recommended to continue the scan in order to fix those errors. Check disk requires time, so please be patient. After all the scan is complete it will automatically proceed to windows.
The answer on the second part of your problem is Yes! You need to have an internet security or a Antivirus program installed since you are connected to the internet. Any Antivirus program will do as long as it is updated regularly. There could be a infection of a virus which significantly reduces the system performance of your machine.
