How can I fix rar files?

Hello fellows,

How can I fix rar files?

I have 12 rar files in my hp laptop with operating system of windows xp, those files are downloaded from yahoomail.com from a friend.

After downloading the files in to my computer, I tried to open those files but got an error “unable to open file”.

What will I do next?

Hello Lindsay,

There are too many utilities (free) that an extract rar files,

You can use lzarc is one

You have to buy WinRAR though if you want to create rar files.

you can download 'WinRAR archiver' it is a very powerful tool to process rar and zip files.

WinRAR provides the full rar and zip file support.

How can I fix rar files?

Hi Lindsay,

Sorry about that, please try the following steps and see if it works out..

1.  First launch WINRAR and load the damaged archive

2  .On the next step, select all the 12 files in the archive then click the large' repair' icon in the top right corner of the WinRAR screen

3.  Then you specify a specific location in your hard drive to extract the repaired files to, then make sure the 'treat archive as RAR' option is selected

4.  Click OK to start the repair process

5.  Incase you see a pop-up window talking about a suspicious entry, don't worry as this is normal during the repair process, wait and see if your file will be repaired during this process, if not you will get an error message.

How can I fix rar files?

some times when we are downloading or copying .rar file it can be damaged.

You can repair corrupted rar file using Advanced RAR Repair software.
