Transferring data on a new PC

Hello,

I  transferred full settings of my laptop into a removable disk or hard disk's drive D by taking the following steps:

Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > files and settings transferred wizard > Next > Old computer > Removable disk or select drive D> (note that my master drive is C) Finish.

Now, how can I reinstall the transferred file into a new or fresh PC where I haven't ever installed any operating system?

Hello Shahadat,

In transferring the data, you will  need a flash drive. Don't just make it  too hard  to transfer because there are many ways of transferring the data, and it will take you some time to resolve it. Don't be hazy because this might erase all your data while transferring it. Before you can transfer any file, data, or documents, you need to set up or install your OS.

By the way, you cannot just copy-paste the Operating System Installed in your Laptop. This can only lead to a damaged Operating System . It can only be used if you have the OS Installer ( These are Windows7, WindosXP,WINDOWSvista and etc.). Only the documents in your drive d: can be copied.

I hope this will solve your problem. Good Day.

Before transferring any data, you have to install the operating system from the official disk. Don’t just copy the system files from one computer to another, as this won’t work. After installing the OS, you can transfer the files from your drive D:.

No, that will not work. The target computer or the new computer where the settings will be transferred to must have an operating system. There should be a working system on the machine before the settings can be transferred to. Another tool that you can use is the Windows Easy Transfer Tool. You can use this to transfer settings from Windows XP to Windows 7.

Using the tool, you can easily transfer your user account data and settings from Microsoft Windows XP to Microsoft Windows 7. The tool is included as part of Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows 8. If the old computer where the files and settings will be coming from is not a Windows 7, you have to download and run the tool on that computer.

To begin, download Windows Easy Transfer Tool for Windows 7. Once downloaded, run the program on your computer and just go along the steps. When you are prompted where you want to save the data, select “An external hard drive or USB flash drive” then wait while it scans your computer. You will also be prompted if you want to password-protect your files.

After the scan, save your data to your external hard drive or USB flash drive. After that, in Windows 7, connect the external drive where you saved your Windows XP data then click “Start” and then in the search box type without quotes “Windows Easy Transfer” then select it from the result. Click “Next” then select “Yes”. Navigate to the external drive and select the file you saved.

The tool will now transfer the data to your Windows 7 computer. And that’s it.
