How can I use the contour cut of my Roland SC-545EX printer?

We have a client wanting to print a pre-cut vinyl sticker.

He said that our printer is just like the printer being used by their previous sticker provider that has been already out for business.

He ordered 100 pre-cut stickers for their Motorcycle Club. We have accepted the job without any knowledge on the job.

I am looking for the process from the manual but I cannot find it.

Please help!

Yes it is true that Roland SC-545EX printer has the ability or features print in a sticker with contour cut. But contour cutting doesn’t work in JPG image format. You need an EPS format of image to make contour cutting works.

Our first step is to design the image for the sticker. You can use Adobe Photoshop for designing the image or create the image directly into Corel Draw. If you have created the image in Adobe Photoshop open it or insert the image in Corel Draw. And inside the Corel Draw, create another layer at the back of your designed image and create an image on the layer in white background that looks like you are masking the cutting of your sticker.

After creating, use the Interactive Contour Tool to create a contour on the image you have created that masked the cutting in your sticker. Be sure to use the outside contour.

Save your image in EPS format then rip it into your Versa Works software. You will se a marching ant like (marquee) in the preview of the image in Versa Works. These lines will be the cutting lines in your Roland Machine. If there’s no marquee on the preview, repeat the process.
