How can I use text filters in a much broader way?

I know I can use text filters on web browsers and programming languages, but can I also use it in my computer like when searching for a file? Because the windows search thing is not that really reliable.

Hi Patty White,

For offline use you can do the programming of search but you need to add all the information to your new programmed offline site system. You may find the win7 as reliable in search if you do the indexing. There is index option for search in win7. Hope it will help you. Good luck.
