A network interface card enables a computer to become a part of a network. How is this done? How is a NIC otherwise known as? What are the techniques used by a NIC to enable communication between computers or devices? Explain some new features available in the latest NIC available today which has helped in significant performance improvement.

How can you connect a computer to a network?

Hi,

NIC is the acting as the connection between the computer and the network cable. The cards are installed in an expansion slot in each computer and server on the network.



After the NIC has been installed, the network cable is attached to the card's port to make the actual physical connection between the computer and the rest of the network.
