How can I convert Zip file into TAR format file? Is there any utility tool which I can use to convert it? If so, kindly please send me the link and the process on converting it. Thanks.

Hi Ruth, 

There are many options in converting zip archive to tar archives. The first option is without installing any tool to your computer, it’s done online using websites such as zamzar or convert files. These sites enable you to convert archives from one format to another. For example, if you want to use convert files, do as follows. You have to first upload your zip file and choose the input format to be zip. And choose the output format to be tar and press the convert button.

The second option is using a standalone tools such as izarc to convert archives from one format to another. This tool needs to be installed to your computer before using it, unlike the first options.

As to my knowledge there are no issues in converting one format to the other, except the sites need your email address and limit the file sizes to be uploaded. These issues may not bother you if your files size fits the size limit.

Hello,Ruth,

There is a website you can use to convert files in zip format to tar format.Just log in to http://www.convertfiles.com click on the browse button,select your zip file,then select tar as the output format, the site will take care of the rest,those are the only steps to convert the file.
