Hello,
I have a lot of folders and subfolder in PC.
Some times I find it very difficult to identify a folder among them. I have been thinking whether I could use a unique picture or create my own icon for each folder to make it easy to recognize.
Please tell me how to change the picture of a icon and how to create my own unique icon for a folder.
Thanks.
How to create your own icon for a folder?
Hello Mr. Achan
Its a very good idea to change icon of folder to a user – defined picture for remembrance, you can change as picture file extension to .ico to be recognized as a icon file. Or you can easily create your own icons by using MS Paint, Photoshop or any other graphics program.
I will provide you the Easiest way to do it in MS Paint as follows:-
1. Click Start > Programs > Accessories, and select Paint.
2. Set the Height and Width of Image to 32 pixels.
3. Set the Zoom to 800%.
4. Now create your new icon. Save it as a bitmap (bmp) file.
5. You can change its extension later to .ico, to automatically recognized as icon file.
When you want to replace a Desktop icon with one you made yourself, you just need to remember the filename with which you created

How to create your own icon for a folder?
Hi,
To create your own icons for your personal folders, you have to follow these instructions :
1. First, you have to make your pictures at the right size to be an icon. You can do this easily (by using paint for example) to resize the image to 32*32 then save the file as a BMP image.
2. Then go this menu Properties > Customize > Choose Picture by right clicking on the folder.
3. Choose the resized image and click on apply then Ok.

Thanks to all you guys for your wonderful comments.
Wow.Shwanj Whudson, your suggestion is excellent. Your detailed step by step system is easy to understand, and easy to remember, too.
I am able to set up in MS Paint by following your instructions.
Now I can make each folder easy to recognize by using a unique picture, or by creating my own icon for each folder.
Thanks once more for helping me, my friends.
