Hi,

Is it possible to add one's own details in a map such as Google map. Can I edit a map and fill in details in the area that I live in? How is it done. What are the steps and things I need to know before trying this?

Hi!

Yes, it is possible for you to add your own's details in a map.

Yes, you can edit a map by using My Google Maps or My Maps. You can fill in text, pictures and even videos in your desired locations. You also can share your locations via email.

All you need to do are only go to Google Maps. Then, just click on My Maps. Done.

How to customize a map with one’s own details

Hi Luz,
The 'Map Box' website provides the steps to customize map on personal details.
The steps to create the customized map are as follows:
1) Navigate to the Official Map Box website
2) On the home page you will see a box as 'Design Custom Maps', Click 'Start Now' button

3) Select the country, next select 'Street' or 'terrain' to be the starting point of the map
4) Click 'Customize' button, you can customize streets, buildings, water by dragging the slider bar
5) Click 'Markers' button, you can write a title or add a tooltip to the marker
6) Click 'Add' button to add these details to the map

7) Click 'settings' tab, enter the title and description of the map
8) Click 'Set' button to set the origins of the map

9) Click on the 'Share+' button if you want to share the map on the server
