My friend is selling his computer and he says it's 2 GB RAM.

I'm kind a interested in buying it but I want to make sure that the RAM is actually 2 GB.

How do I determine the size of the RAM installed in the computer he's selling?

Hi Ailea_Kathleen01,

There are two ways of checking it.

1. Directly from the Machine, You can check the memory RAM on your computer by just simply going directly into the level of your machine then proceed to COMMAND PROMPT or the DOS PROMPT and type the word MEM and click Enter.

2. For Windows, After starting your computer, go to the MENU and click start. Next to the Control Panel then Performance and Maintenance and look for the Basic Data or Information about your computer.

Hope this may help you.

Hello,

To know the size of RAM:

1. Right click on My Computer Icon.

2. Click On Properties.

3. In General TAB you will see the information on your computer.

In this attachment image you will see the instructions.

You can check the size of the random access memory (RAM) installed on the computer by checking the information from the BIOS.

Getting into the BIOS would depend on the motherboard; some would require you to keep on hitting F2 after turning the computer on while some would need you to keep on tapping the Delete key.

When you’re in the BIOS, look for System Information and it should show you the amount of memory currently installed on the machine.

If you also press Tab while the computer is Posting (right after you turn it on), it would also briefly show you how much memory is being detected by the computer.
