How To Disable A Laptop TrackPad?

I have a new HP TouchSmart and I really do not like the trackpad that came with it. I went under settings but can not find a option to disable it. It gets in the way when I am typing and causes the pointer to move around the screen. Which messes up what I am working on.

One way of doing it there is a short cut key on your keyboard, it’s should be located on your F-number letter it looks like a box. Just Press Fn that way it will disable you track pad.
