I have multiple Apple devices and I use the same Apple ID of mine in all the devices. Now the problem is when I receive a call, all the Apple devices ring simultaneously. Is there any feature available by which I can disable this simultaneous ringing in those devices which I don’t use for calls?
How to disable multiple Apple devices with same Apple ID ringing simultaneously?
I guess the reason why all of your Apple devices ring simultaneously whenever you receive a call is because of the new feature in Mac OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 called Continuity. Its noble intention, actually, is to make your Apple devices to work better as one. One of its many abilities is to allow you to receive calls or answer messages on any Apple device accessible to you that time be it your Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
But the problem comes in when you start enabling Continuity in all of your Apple devices. Here it is. When you receive a call, all of your Apple devices where Continuity is enabled will ring almost at once probably with a little delay. Normally, it is your iPhone that will ring first, followed by the iPad, and then your Mac.
If you answer one device, let’s say your iPhone, the rest of your devices will continue to ring because of the delay. This is the same with iMessages. All of your Apple devices will receive the same iMessage. If you no longer want to experience this, here’s how to end this.
On your iPhone, go to Settings, FaceTime, and then snap iPhone Cellular Calls to Off.
