Â
I recently bought a new iPhone 4s and I am not yet familiar with it. I am currently having a problem turning off the text tones while receiving phone calls. This is very annoying as the tones hurt my ears whenever a message comes in during a phone call. Is there a setting that can be configured to disable this feature? I have already asked a few friends here and there but none of them seem to have any clue. They are even suggesting that it cannot be turned off. Please help.
How to disable text tones during phone calls in iPhone?
Hi Rochelle,
You can turn off the volume of the ring on your iPhone 4s. You can do that in several ways.
One option is for you to push down the button on the upper left hand side of the phone. Its on top of the volume buttons. It will turn off the volume on the device.
Another option is to go to Settings > Sounds > Text tone > choose None. Same goes for the ring tone. You can opt to choose none under Ring tone option.
Another option is turning down the volume on the device. This will lessen the sound.

To turn off your iPhone's text tones:
You can disable the volume of your iPhone by sliding the Ring/Silent switch on the upper left side of your phone. Just simply slide it to enable or disable the sounds on your iPhone.
Or you can also go to your Settings and then under Text Tone select None on the top portion of the screen.
