Hi,
I want to disable touch pad in my laptop. It is ASUS with Windows 7 and I find this touch pad really annoying and it comes up every time though I don't use it, but it activated by mistake and I don't have any idea how to disable it. So please guide me how to disable touchpad in ASUS.

How to disable touchpad in ASUS Windows 7?
Hello,
Asus laptops come with a function key for toggling On/Off the touchpad. Hold down "Fn" button and key "F3" or "F9". If this trick is not working for your notebook, then you left with few more option.

Disable the mouse through the “Windows Device Manager”

Changing ‘Mouse-settings’ from the Control Panel.

Applying “BIOS-setting”.

Using third party application.
CHANGING MOUSE SETTINGS:

Go to "Start"<<Control Panel
-
Double-click "Mouse" << "Hardware".

Change the setting to "Disabled" then click the "Ok” and exit.
DISABLING THROUGH DEVICE MANAGER:
-
Go to "Start"<<Control Panel.

Double-click the "System and Security"<< "Device Manager".

Scroll down to "Mice and Other Devices" <<click the "+" to expand the menu.

Right-click mouse << click "Disable".

Click "Ok" and exit.
USING BIOS SETTING:

Press the "F2" key at boot-up to launch BIOS. select "BIOS Settings" from the menu .

Select the "Disable" option next to the touchpad device.

Press the "F10" key to save the changes and exit. Restart.
USING A TOOL – “TouchFreez”:
You can consider this application as well. Remember TouchFreeze does not actually “disable” the Touchpad but however disable it while typing – which will get rid of the erratic behaviour of the cursor.

Google for the application “TouchFreez” and download it.

Now, install that program and run the .exe file. This tool runs in Automatic Mode.

If you want you can access the TouchFreeze Icon from the system tray.

How to disable touchpad in ASUS Windows 7?
It`s really easy to turn off the ASUS touch pad in Windows 7.You just have simply to open start menu type control panel and run it.
Now go to the hardware and sound settings.
Here click on the devices and printer settings.
Here right click on the PC device, then click mouse settings.
There is an option name ELAN settings, click on it and device and touch pad will stop working.
