How do I break up file into multiple pieces?

I am a movie freak and I love to download HD movies to my Mac. I am wondering if I can break up file into multiple pieces so that I can save them to my pendrive. Do I need to download a Video Splitter that can help me split , cut or trim large video files and save it to my pendrive? I want these files to be compatible with my Mac too. If the files has been broken, is there a way I can restore the spilt file?

Hi Luke kemper,

    You need to download a video splitter like Avidemux which is free and powerful tools. It also supports video formats such as MPEG4 which can be played in both mac and windows. You can split the video file and merge them another time, if there need be. There are also other free tools such as VirtualDub and FormatFactory. The later one is video and audio converter too.
