Hello experts,
How do I copy mp3 titles only? Can I possibly copy the mp3 title of the song without including the .mp3 file format or extension? I want to rename it but there is some error that says unable to rename the said file format. I hope you can give me some solution.
Thank you.

Hi James,
Follow following steps to hide file extensions. Then you will be able to copy the file name without .mp3 extensions.
-
Click on Tools > Folder Option in any folder, or Open Folder option from control panel.
-
Click on View.
-
Select "Hide extensions for known file type".
By this it will show only files names.

Hi,
Yes it is possible to rename mp3 files on your computer please just follow this process and get your job done.
Highlight the file you want to rename, then right click your mouse, in new menu please press rename button, now you will see that your old song name is highlighted in a text box, now please remember that excluding .mp3 or extension deletes the remaining portion of your song and instead of old one type your new desired name here without changing you .mp3 or extension name.

Dear Bryan,
Yes you can copy the MP3 title only and can paste anywhere you want and edit it as well. Whenever you try to copy the title, first right click on the file –> select Rename –> Now all of your text is highlighted –> Copy only the Title using a mouse –> Paste your title in a notepad or MS Word file. Edit it as much as you want.
Thanks.

How do i copy mp3 titles only?
Hi Bryan,
Hope you are doing good. Yes you can do this by doing the following steps:
1. Make sure you are not using the file or file is being currently opened or file is being played.
2. After that single click on the file and press F2.
3. Now select only the part of file name without extension and press CTRL + C.
4. Now right click on the directory, select new and click on "New Text File".
5. Press CTRL + P or Paste your previously copied text there.
6. It will raise a Message that this action will change the file format. Do you want to continue? You should click yes and a file type object is created in your directory with only mp3Â titles.
I hope you find this helpful.
