How does the quickscan option of Bitdefender work?

Hi expert,

 I need your help. I use Bitdefender as anti-virus soft. Sometimes I use quickscan but one of my friends told me that quickscan misses some viruses. Is it true? How well does the quickscan option of Bitdefender work? Please, tell me in detail.

Hi Lori,

There is no truth in your friends saying. Basically two types of scanning is available. They are Full scan and quick scan. It is recommended to run full scan once an Anti-Virus or Malware application is installed in your system. After that initial point quick scan runs when a scan on specific files commonly get attacked or any changed files in your system. As name suggest Quick scan is much quicker and so many people use it.

Therefore you need not worry unnecessary. But if you feel like, you may do a full scan on weekly basis or whenever you want.

Hello Lori,

 

Yes, your friends are correct to some degree. Quick scan only scans files which are targeted by malware, files that are immediately at risk, and files that are relatively important that disabling them can cripple your system. I strongly suggest that you run a full system scan every time you can especially if it is a shared computer. I personally schedule it every 4 A.M. as I am sure that I am asleep during this time.
