What technique is used to develop a pen-shaped device that can control touch screen more effectively than our fingers? How does a stylus pen works on any type of touchscreen from mobile to tablets?

How Does A Stylus Pen Work On Phones And Tablets?

Inside a touch screen, a resistive and a capacitive system is used to sense the input from the stylus. In the former system, the pen and the screen makes contact with each other that results in the disruption of the electric field which the computer records, and hence one layer is conductive while the other is resistive.

In the latter system, the screen holds a continuous electric charge which gets disrupted when the stylus is pressed. The sensors at the corner determine the location of the touch and send them to the computer. Capacitive screens are brighter, clearer, accurate and responsive but are more costly. The surface acoustic wave system type of touch screen does not work with stylus.
