How to download Microsoft smtp service plugins and how it works?

Protocol is a set of rules. To communicate between two machines both machines should have common method to send and receive data. Otherwise machine cannot understand the message. Therefore standard method use to send or receive data. SMTP is the standard protocol which uses send or receives emails.

The SMTP plugin means the set of software component which use to run SMTP.

Without plugins you cannot send or receive email correctly.
