Windows Desktop Cleanup is the easiest way to clean unused icon in your desktop. In enabling this feature just follow this steps:
5. Click “Ok” to exit “Desktop Items” window.
6. Click “Ok” to exit “Display Properties” window.
Or if you want to run the desktop clean up immediately just follow steps 1 to 3 and click the "Clean Desktop Now" button.
The “Desktop Cleanup” wizard only removes selected shortcuts and store them in an automatically created desktop folder called “Unused Desktop Shortcuts”. Whenever you want to retrieve the unwanted shortcuts just open the “Unused Desktop Shortcuts” folder.
