How to extract icon file from folder Mac

Hi Friends,

I am using Mac OS X, I would like to extract application icon to use in graphic application or just as replacement icons on Mac OS X. Is there a way to do it using Preview application. Please guide me on how to extract icon file from folder Mac.

How to extract icon file from folder Mac

Hello,

 

Yes, you can extract the application icon using the Preview. Just follow the steps below:

 

Go to the Applications folder and choose the application with the wanted icon.

 

Right click on the icon and click Show Package Contents.

 

A new window will pop up. Browse to the Resources and find the icon.

 

Open preview and drag and drop the icon there. Once you see it, save in the format you want.
