There are several methods to do flash "write Protected" usb drive. Some methods are working & some are not working at all. Some are difficult to apply. That's why I am not telling you any method. I just suggest you to use a software that will help you to easily format "write protected" usb drive. The name of the software is "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" & you can download it from here:
It's a very small software (Only 96KB). After download, you need not to install it. Just run it as administrator.
Hi,
First of fall just check out Your flash drive. Is there any switch on it? If there is a switch check out that it's not turned off because if it is turned off you can't copy, Write or format it. You will be getting write protected message. If there is no switch on your usb then trying these steps by attaching your USB to computer.
1. Click on the start.
2. Type in the search folder or run " regedit and press enter.
3. A window of registry will open and be sure that your USB is attached.
4. Now there look for Hkey_local_machine_>system_. currentcontrolset_>control_>storagedevicespolicies.
5. Simply delete storage device policies
Now try formatting your USB. If the problem persist then try this software to format by force. Here is the URL to download.
