How to gain access to the Windows Installer Service

The Window Installer Service on my Notebook Computer for a number of weeks now cannot gain access to it. I always see a pop up message notifying me of an error occurrence. What could be the possible cause and what should be my first action in rectifying this problem as well as the best way to handle such condition. Thank you.

Actually, this can be due to a damage or a misplace of the Windows Installer files.

There are few alternatives available to solve this issue. Yet, follow these steps since this is the simplest way,

• Click start > run > type as "msconfig" > ok

​

• Select "windows installer" from the service tab > ok

​

• Click on Restart

​

• Now re-install the Office package by following the visual instructions > Click next
