I've figured out how to host FTP server. Hide your IP step is now a puzzle. I don’t know how to hide the  IP address of my server. Are there possible workaround for this?

Hi Janet

I can understand that you have hosted a FTP server and you need to hide the IP address of the server.

Let me help you with the issue that you are facing there, there is a simple process that you can follow to hide the IP address, but there are some drawbacks in the same process which I will discuss this further on.

First to hide the IP address, you need to use something like the DynDNS or the NO-IP.

But this does not totally hide your IP, it only cloaks it.

For example the DynDNS will give you an URL as follows,

ftp://<chosen-name>.dyndns.org

Now let be talk about the drawbacks of the same, even if you do this people can still trace out the IP address by using a command like the “ping” command in Windows. So this does not hide your IP it only covers it up.
