Ubuntu is one of the best operating system Linux has ever created. Certainly it becomes now one of the most popular Linux OS. One of the stunting feature is it can be installed alongside with windows. Some step should be followed is given below:
a)Â Â Â Â Â You have to go ubuntu.com/downloads then download the Wubi installer and then install it.
b)Â Â Â Â As when you install it, asked a password which you will create by yourself. Then you allocate the drive where it will be installed and then you hit install it.
c)Â Â Â Â Â It will take some time to install it on your computer ,after that your PC restarts and you can see two operating systems, you enter into the Ubuntu operating system and start enjoying it.

Hello Msmunir,
Ubuntu is a flavor of Linux operating system. It is used by more advanced users of computers and can be a little tricky to install and use but has lots of benefits. Before you start installing it, i suggest you read about it here. You can also try Ubuntu without installing it through live CD or USB. You can download it on the Download page on Ubuntu website here. You can also install Ubuntu within your existing Windows XP operating system through Wubi. It is a software installed on windows operating system that helps you install Ubuntu through it. You can read more about it here.Â
Wish you luck with Ubuntu!

You can use a DVD. You must provide a blank DVD disc, a DVD writer and a burning software like Nero. Use Nero to burn the ISO image of Ubuntu to a blank disc. Remember not to burn it as data because it will copy the ISO image to a disc NOT the content and it won't make the disc bootable.
Press the power button of your computer, insert that bootable disc that has already contained Ubuntu. configure your BIOS so that it boots from the DVD drive. From here on, you start using Ubuntu without causing damage to your windows installation.
This way you can familiarize yourself in a linux environment before you install it to your hard drive. according to my experience, the windows partitions are also mounted so newbies can easily access their windows files like MP3s, documents, videos without mounting them manually.

You can go to ubuntu.com for a complete information and other options regarding Ubuntu. You can install Ubuntu alongside windows and it won’t harm your windows installation. Once you open the computer, you will be asked what operating system you want to use. From there, you can choose windows or Ubuntu. You can also have other options aside from these two and it would be safe.
