How i will off my firewall?

I am using Windows XP professional version and there is a firewall attach with this operating system.

Currently its on and I am facing some problem like sometimes I can't connect my wimax modem.

Please can anyone tell me how I will off this firewall?

How i will off my firewall?

Hi Msmunir,

I'll have to show you how to turn off the firewall by simply follows this:

Administrator account is needed to full access to your computer and after that you can go to control panel then you have to open Network Connection as you can see there is a Local Area Connection or connection which you are using for connectivity.

All you have to do is now find its properties by just right-click the icon and select properties, then click Advanced Tab, as you can see you have to uncheck the Protect my computer networking by limiting, then press OK and there you go the firewall is now turn off.

Hi Msmunir,

There are few things you need to consider before turning off the Windows firewall:

• Is there any third party firewall running on your computer.
• If you have antivirus installed. Most of the antivirus came with a firewall and it's on by default which will turn off the Windows firewall automatically during the installation of antivirus.
• Once the firewall is off your computer is less secure.

Solution:

• Without turning off we can add any programs to the firewall exception list which will bypass the firewall. You can do so by going to Start -> Control Panel -> I Network and Internet connection and click on the firewall and Exception Tab->Add program and locate the application in your case Wimax application.

• If you insist to turn off the firewall you can do so by going to Start -> Control Panel -> I Network and Internet connection and click on the firewall.

Make sure at least one firewall is turned on.

How i will off my firewall?

Hello dear,

It is very easy to turn off the firewall settings. You just have to do some these things. Click on the start button and open the control panel. Now, click on security center. It will open the security center. Now, click on Firewall settings, and it will open this window.

Click on "Off (Not Recommended)" and click OK. It will turn off your firewall settings.
