 How do I transfer or install applications that can be downloaded for free from the iTunes Store to my iPod Touch or iPhone?

How to install applications on my iPod Touch or iPhone?

It is very easy to download applications that you can transfer or install on your iPhone or iPod Touch. You don’t need to be an expert to do it, but there are simple steps that you must consider to successfully initiate the installation process.

First, make sure that you have uploaded the latest software on your iPhone or iPod Touch. You can download itunes version 10.5 at https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and choose the software that best suit your computer’s technical specifications.

Second, make sure you are connected to the internet. Go to https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/free-apps/ and look for the applications that you would like to download. Read the technical requirements of the application you’re downloading to ensure compatibility.

Using iTunes, you have the options to download directly through your iPod Touch or iPhone which will automatically store the application on your device once it has finished downloading or you can store the application on your computer and then sync your iPod Touch or iPhone.

Lastly, you can check the application and see if it is working properly. Some applications can make your gadget crash or run very slow. The reasons for this may be the number of applications installed on your gadget and an error in the application’s compatibility or installation. If this happens, simply turn of the device and uninstall/reinstall the application.

Hi, 

Roland has just missed the main thing. So after installation and updates you have to open Itunes and there you can download, add or delete files. You have to have an account and you will be able to add files to your device. Then, when you finished downloading the chosen files you have to click to your device and click for syncing. 

That is all, very simple.

How to install applications on my iPod Touch or iPhone?

If you can download a program from a website and then install it on your computer, so can you with your iPhone or any iOS device. You can download any app from the Apple App Store and then install it on your iPhone via iTunes. This is the program that manages the contents of any iOS devices.

But before you download any app from the App Store, you should upgrade iTunes first to the latest version to avoid any problems. To download the latest version, visit Download iTunes 11.1. Uninstall the older version from your computer and then install the latest version you just downloaded. Open iTunes and then connect your iPhone to the computer.

In Devices, select your phone and then click the Apps button. Select Sync Apps and then click Install next to the apps you want to synchronize. Click Apply. This will now sync the downloaded apps and then install it to your iPhone. See image.
