How To Install A Printer Driver in CentOS

I thought at first that I can run anything that I can think of in CentOS by just plugging it into the USB port.

However, when I plugged in my HP Printer, the printer did not work and I suspect that it is because it doesn't have a printer driver.

How can I install a printer driver in CentOS?

Go to CUPS web interface through the printer's panel in the server manager and then Log On as Admin.

Click Do Administration Tasks and then choose Add a Printer.

You will be asked to pick a name for your printer, choose any name for the printer, You will also be asked for Location and

Description, but these are optional. Press Continue

Choose a Device- If your printer is plugged in to the first parallel port, choose "Parallel Port #1". Press Continue

You will see default settings for the printer, choose it, if default settings does not appear, you have to manually enter it.

When you connect a printer in Centos, then the required driver for that printer will be automatically installed.

You will get a notification at the right bottom corner area in your computer monitor screen after connect the printer USB cable in your computer USB port.

Then you should be waiting for few seconds to search printer. After complete t searching new printer configured with your system. Then you will get the name of that printer in your hardware list.

If you will face anymore problem to configure your printer then Go to control Panel and then Select Add Hardware then select next and add manually your hardware (printer) .

Thanks
