Hi guys,

How to install Sony vaio light scribe driver? Give me some tips on the proper installation process of Sony vaio light scribe driver. I don’t want to compromise the laptop’s security. I just need to install it properly to avoid future problems.

How to install sony vaio lightscribe driver?

Hi, Go to Sony’s support resources. Now hit detect my Model and this under the auto detect or you can select your product category. Now select option 3 and hit continue. In this case detect model option may not run for specific computers. So you can hit how do I select my model no. and when the download is complete you will have to follow the proper instructions to complete the driver installation.

Sometimes you have to click next and continue and accept the agreement to finish the installation.

How to install sony vaio lightscribe driver?

The LightScribe driver is available online for downloading and installing. It is available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating system.

For Windows – http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/windows/index.aspx?id=810

For Mac – www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/mac/index.aspx?id=813

For Linux – www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/linux/index.aspx?id=814

They have all detailed instructions on how to download and install it. If you already have a DVD rw drive and want to install it, then first shut down your PC, then open up the side of the PC, unplug ribbon cable, remove the screws from the driver and take it out. You have to how the jumper is set on pins at the back of the existing drive and set the jumper in the same way on the new drive. Now put the drive, set the ribbon cable, put the side as it was and boot up the PC. If you need more information you may check out http://www.lightscribe.com.

Hi,

Unfortunately, Sony Vaio does not come with support for lightscribe. Most likely what you have there is a standard DVD SuperMulti Drive. This means that even though if you would be able to install lightscribe driver software, it would end not working at all.

If you insist of having lightscribe, the better option is to get an external optical drive that comes with lightscribe support.

How to install sony vaio lightscribe driver?

Hi Kristen,

 

All you have to do is insert the CD / DVD in your CD / DVD Drive, if you have one. If you don’t have the CD / DVD, download the installer by going to the Sony website, Support, then Downloads.

 

Another is by downloading the driver from the LightScribe website. Select and download the version for your Operating System.

 

Run the installer, read the instructions and you will be asked to select the Language, click if you agree to the Terms and Conditions, then click Next throughout the installation and Finish.

You can reinstall sony VAIO But it will erase everything that you have saved onto the hard drive.
