I installed Windows to my 3TB hard drives first to see if all the hardware works okay. And I want it to set in RAID5 and load the Ubuntu server. With the exception of the Ethernet card. And after that the RAID was not recognized to Ubuntu because it is a valid disk. Can you give me some suggestions on how to install the Ubuntu set up would be raided Linux servers and to be installed easily without any hesitations?

And I want some servers with a trimming to access. So that I could done and install this well.

In the event that you are using hardware raid between two disks for instance, then it will be possible for you to create a raid 1 array between those disks, or alternatively a raid 0 array. But when you choose to use a software raid, you may be able to create two sets of identical partitions on the disks, and for a raid 0 array between the partitions, and a raid 1 array between the other partitions two.

But if what you want it to create a raid array between two partitions on the same disk, then you will need to use the following procedure:

  1. First you will have to create two identical partitions.
  2. And then you will tell the software what the name of the new raid array, what partitions you are going to use, and the type of array that you are creating, for instance raid 0, raid 1 and so forth

Once you have done that, you can then format and mount the array in a similar way that you will just format a partition on a physical disk.
