Hi all,Â
I am facing an issue lately with my dvd burner. I have to format my laptop and only have a digital copy of windows on my laptop. Can anyone please tell me what the options available to me are? Also I heard that a bootable image of windows can be made via a USB drive. Can anyone explain to me how to do that?Â
How to install windows without a disc- USB installation
Since you have a digital copy of windows, you can copy the same to a USB stick and then choose to Run the file from USB to do a fresh Windows installation. You could wipe out the entire data during the process thus creating an empty and fresh disk. You may not need to format.
But, if you still need to format the laptop, you have to create bootable USB. For that you may have to install the tool from the this cnet download link and Run the same to create a bootable USB.Â
Note: If you want to boot from the USB, on startup of the laptop, please change the boot order in the BIOS to choose the USB first.
