how to lock the lan connection for my wireless internet? I want to hook up via wireless connection then everytime I connect it will ask for password. Any suggestions?
How to lock the lan connection for my wireless internet
You can also lock your wireless internet by using WEP option. WEP key is always of 128 Bit by following you router manufacture manual book instructions you can easily lock your wireless internet through WEP this is the easiest way to lock your wireless Internet.
2nd option
Desire system MAC address is assign in router table by this step only that PC will access your wireless internet. All this information is in router manual book.Â
How to lock the lan connection for my wireless internet
Open your Access Point GUI and go to wireless setting and go to Security.
You can use encryption key such as WEP,WPA-PSK.WPA2-PSK from your Access Point, its up to you which keys you will use, but i suggest WAP2-PSK.
 To avoid being always asked for the KEY follow this steps:
FOR WINDOWS 7
 Go to Control Panel / Network and Internet / Network and Sharing Center
Click Manage Wireless Networks
Choose your SSID and right click to it.
Select Properties
In Connection TAB CHECK the Connect Automatically when this network is in range.
Go to Security TAB
You will see:
Security Type
Encryption type
Network Security key;
In Network Security key, re-enter your security key and then hit OK.

The major idea behind securing the wireless is enabling the encryption key. There are different types of encryption such as WPA, WPA2, WEP, etc and you can choose any of them.
The first thing you need to do is, go to the router setting and you will find security over there.
And then, you need to find encryption over there;
select the encryption type,
type the encryption key, this encryption key is the password to connect to the wireless LAN.
