Dear Techyv members, I hope you are all doing fine. May I ask how to make installing  directx10 in wine effective? Is this possible in anyway? If so, how can I make the installation easier without any glitches or  errors to encounter. Please provide a step by step guide for this.

How to make installing directx10 in wine effective?

 

Hi there Rowen Briones Prado,

 

DirectX 10 and even DirectX 11 should be supported by now by Wine, so you shouldn't have any troubles at all installing it via Wine. DirectX installer can be found on the Microsoft web page: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35.

 

Just in case you can't install it normally, there is a small installation helper script called Winetricks. You can find it on this link: https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks. Install the Winetricks and using  the given commands install DirectX 10 in order to make things work.
