I used Internet Explorer 9 and when visiting a website with web ads, I always received a pop up message that says “Some content is filtered on this site” with a button below to Turn off ActiveX Filtering. I am running Windows 7 64-bit PC. When clicking on the button to turn off the filtering, I did not see any effects on doing it. What can I do to manually disable the ActiveX Filtering? I need help. Thanks.

How to manually disable ActiveX Filtering in IE9?
What is Active X? It actually lets web developers create interactive contents on their own site however it may also pose some risks on securities online. It is a very powerful plug-ins for browsers particularly for Internet Explorer. However, many of these Active X controls are made by 3rdparties and Microsoft who created Internet Explorer cannot guarantee their online safety.
There are 2 ways on how to disable the Active X control on Internet Explorer 9:
-
Click on Tools on the Menu Bar.
-
Or you can also choose to click on the Gear Icon instead which is found at the top right and from there click on Safety
-
Then click on the Active X Filtering to uncheck it
-
This time, refresh your screen by clicking on F5 to make sure that the Active X has been turned off successfully.
Another way to turn off the Active X is by modifying the value of the Compatibility Flags which is on Registry Editor. Please be advised though that this task might pose a serious issue if the modification done is incorrect. If you wish to try it though, you may go to support.microsoft.com/kb/240797.
