I want to protect my Microsoft Excel data. I do not know how to protect excel spreadsheet.

I am willing to know the exact command which indicates a way of protection.

How to protect my Microsoft Excel spreadsheet?

Hi Larry,

Follow the steps below to protect your worksheet:

1. Go to Review tab.

2. Go to changes section and select Protect sheet.

3. The protect sheet window will pop up.

4. Submit a password and check/un-check the user options as per your requirement.

5. Confirm password window will pop up re-enter your password.

6. To unprotect the worksheet go to the unprotected worksheet tab and enter your password.

In the same way if you want to protect your whole workbook go to the Protect workbook tab and select if you have to give Restricted Permission or restricted editing in your workbook.

How to protect my Microsoft Excel spreadsheet?

Protecting the Excel sheet is a common demand of the users. It enables the users to access the data easily and with more secure.

It would have been better if you could tell the Office Excel version you are using. Whatever, here I am showing Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2010 Excel protecting method.

All the methods include the password protection. But the procedures are totally different from each other. Just follow the ways I have shown. If you find any difficulty regarding protecting Excel sheet, then you can post your question anytime.
