I am currently working on a file that contains some sensitive information. I have to make sure that no one else can get access to it. Please guide me on how to protect a PDF file?

How To Protect A PDF With Password?

If you don’t want to throw down a good price to protect a document, you can either follow the steps below or use the third-party alternatives to encrypt the documents. 1. Protect PDF files in Office Applications:

• Click on the ‘Create PDF’ tab in the Acrobat Task ribbon.

• Type the file name, and click on ‘Restrict Editing’.

• Set up the password and permission as required in the security dialog box.

• Click OK and Save.

 

2. Using PDFMate:

• Download the application.

• Click on ‘Add Files’ on the upper-right corner, and then double-click to choose the desired PDF file.

• Check the boxes ‘Open Password’ and ‘Permission Password’ to protect the document.

• Hit the ‘Build’ button and you will get the Password Protected PDF.
