My PC got corrupted, and the only option is to reformat it. The problem is, I cannot find the DVD for my Windows-7 upgrade from the original Vista to Win-7. The product key is in that DVD. I got into the System Recovery Options but there are no listed OS nor do I have system restore. Is there a recover product key command prompt code that I could enter so I could find out what’s the current product key of the OS installed?
How to recover product key command prompt suggestion
Hi,
Usually the product is available on the sticker on the back of your laptop or on the CD(which you don't have). However it is still easy to find the key. The key is stored in the windows registry. However finding it from the registry is impossible because the key is encrypted. So to find it just use a freeware software called Magical Jelly Beans which you can download from here:

Ingridgonzalou,
Well all is not lost there are a couple of ways you can recover your license key. A few more programs that can recover the key from your registry are: "Winkeyfinder", "Keyfinder Thing" and "License Crawler". You can download any of these and they will be able to pull the license key from your registry. Now when you get the key it will be 5 sets of numbers and letters, make sure you write this down exactly or else you will receive an error when you enter it.
Another option you have is to contact Microsoft and they should be able to get the key for you, however there is a cost associated with this. This cost usually isn't that high but be prepared to pay for it.
