After installing a bunch of software needed for my job, I noticed newly added folders, in which I really don’t find anything useful for me. The folders are My Sharing Folders and Web Folders.
I want to know if it is safe to delete them. If yes, how can I remove it?
I don’t want to waste my computer memory for these unwanted and unknown folders.
Please help. Thanks.

You probably installed Windows Live Messenger, that’s why you have My Sharing Folders. This is a shell folder, that is used to share files between you and your friends. It will not cause major issues, if you delete it in your Computer.
We will need to do some Registry tricks to delete this folder.
1. Click Start and then type regedit.exe on the search box to open the Registry Editor window.
2. Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionexplorerMyComputerNameSpace
3. You can see a key below NameSpace with a format like this:
{FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-1A497A9B5C2D}
4. Right-click it then select delete.
5. Restart your computer to ensure that your action will take effect. Notice that the Sharing Folder is now gone.
Web Folders allows you to connect to WebDAV or Sharepoint servers in which you can modify files on them. You can safely remove this also.
You will do the same steps to delete Web Folders. The only difference is that the key below NameSpace this time is:
{BDEADF00-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}
Right-click it then select delete. After a reboot, your Web Folder is already deleted.
How to remove Unknown Folders on Vista?
When you install Windows Live Messenger, a file sharing folder is automatically created, on your workstation. Installing Windows Live Messenger has the My shared folder feature, that allows you to share files with your Windows live contacts. Unfortunately, My shared folder does not have a remove or delete option, if you have decided not to use it.
Here’s a simple step to delete it:
1. Click Start > Run and type Regedit.exe ;
2. Browse to:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionexplorerMyComputerNameSpace”,
Once you find it, press enter.
3. Under that name, look for {FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-1A497A9B5C2D}, highlight then deletes it. Once you refresh the page, the icon will no longer be there.
Web Folders, is a component that lets you to connect to WebDAV or SharePoint servers and access or modify files on them. Web folders have the capability to let you browse your files on a web server, just the same way you browse the folder and files that are saved on your computer.
Removing or deleting: This is as simple as deleting the My Sharing folder, pretty much the same.
1. Click Start > Run and type Regedit.exe
2. Browse to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows
CurrentVersionexplorerMyComputerNameSpace”, Once you found it, press enter.
3. Look for {BDEADF00-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F} then delete it.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!!

How to remove Unknown Folders on Vista?
Windows Vista is Microsoft's operating system. Methinks the folders you are talking about is, not that important to keep on your computer.
You should hold on "CTRL" key & select the unknown folders & right click over the highlighted files & click delete. Thus you can easily get relief from such problems.
Even if your computer has a problem, you can find the deleted files in the recycle bin & you can restore them again but I do believe you don't face any problem.
Best of luck.
