Hello Irvin,

I understand what you are going through since I have ever experience it, removing a virus from your computer manually it a long process and you have to follow the whole steps in order for it to effect.

First of all get a back up for you data so that you may not lose your data, this is a bit risky for your computer. Using powerful antivirus software is much better than removing viruses manually.

When the virus starts to displays some words, write them down and search them from the antivirus vendor website to find out what kind of virus and the instructions of how to remove that virus. This is a bit technical and should undertake it if you know how to use the registry windows and how to view and remove systems, programs files in windows.

Using notepad to remove virus is very easy but you only use notepad when the virus on your computer is not powerful, for powerful virus you will need to remove them with powerful antivirus.

Below is the cord, type it in notepad after save with bat extension then go to command prompt and run the notepad file. Good luck.

Hi,

I understand how frustrated it is when your computer is at risk. I suggest you not to remove the virus manually from your computer because doing so will sometimes remove important system files. This will lead to malfunctions.

I suggest you to install any other Antivirus application on your computer. Norton Antivirus, McAfee etc are very effective and popular applications. You can always download a 30 day free trial of the above programs. You can then scan your computer for any infections and fix it.

This is the safest method to remove the infections from your computer. You can also delete the infected file with the help of certain commands in the Notepad. I would like to remind you that it cannot delete 100% infections.

Thanks and regards,

Skarbos Jay.

It is not recommended to remove a virus manually because you wouldn’t know if there are still other viruses hiding in the system. Aside from that, manual removal doesn’t guarantee that the virus has been removed completely. The most effective way is to always scan your computer. If you have an antivirus or internet security installed, update the program and perform a full system scan of your computer.

Another way is to scan your machine with a virus removal tool like Sophos Virus Removal Tool. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. Just download the program and install it. Once installed, start Sophos then wait for the virus signature database to get updated. When updating is complete, click to start scanning your computer.

The tool scans everything on your computer including USB devices connected via USB port. When a virus is found at the end of the scan, remove it then repeat the scan over and over until it no longer detects a virus. The tool works alongside any antivirus program you may have so there’s no need to disable your existing antivirus or internet security temporarily.

Note: this is not an antivirus but just a tool to remove viruses and it doesn’t perform real-time monitoring or scanning like what your antivirus is doing. The tool can only be used for several months after you first install it and it will automatically stop working when it reaches the end of its usability period.

If you want to use it again, you have to download a new copy.
