I want to rename multiple files in a series like 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg. I've tried it with by selecting multiple file & pressing the shift key. But the result was 1.jpg, 1(1).jpg, 1(2).jpg and so on. I want some effective tool for this. Can anyone help me?.
How to rename multiple files in a series
Hi,
Unlike Unix, Windows XP only supports multiple file renaming in the 1.jpg, 1(1).jpg, 1(2).jpg format. You will need one or more third party software for this.
There are many programs for it in the market. You can also download some from internet. You could try Download Link1.Â
Alternatively, try Download Link2.Â

How to rename multiple files in a series
It's easy – just follow these simple directions.
Highlight the files you want to rename. (Use Ctrl or Shift to highlight multiple files at once).
Right-Click the first file in the series, click Rename.
Only the file you've right clicked will be highlighted. That's OK. Change the file name, the extension will be kept.
Hit the enter key to commit your change. Your files will be named "file (1).jpg", "file (2).jpg", etc.
You should not need additional software to do this simple task.
