How to resolve password issues in Win 7
To reset your password on Windows and create a new one, you can use a password reset disk.
It is recommended to create a password reset disk once you create your password to avoid hassle if you ever forget the password.
Passwords for only local user accounts can be reset using a password reset disk and if the computer is on a domain, you will have to get your password reset by a system administrator.
Follow the steps to create a password reset disk:
1. Insert the CD or USB disk that you want to create your password reset disk on.
2. Go to User Accounts (Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts).
3. Click “Create a Password Reset Disk” and follow the instructions.

Please note that anyone can use this disk to access your account on your computer, so it is important that you store the disk in a secure but accessible location!

Once you created the password reset disk, follow these steps:
1. At the Windows logon screen, click Reset password.
2. Insert the recovery diskette or USB key.
3. Follow the instructions on-screen to create a new password.
4. Log onto the account using your new password.
Do note that Password reset disks are valid for the account they were created on. If you use a password reset disk to recover your password, you do not need to create a new reset disk afterwards.

Unfortunately, if you forgot your password and lost your password reset disk, your only recourse is to reinstall your Operating System to retrieve the data before format is.
Add this Hard drive as secondary in a different machine and take the data backed up.So you have the data and the only thing legal is format. There are other software to manipulate but in this site we are strictly prohibited using illegal software.
