Hi to everyone,
How to restore desktop icons 64 bit? I lost all the icons in my desktop for a reason I don’t know, maybe I clicked something that hides the entire icon displayed on my desktop. Can you help me on the proper set up that will recover all the icons in my windows xp desktop?
Thank you.

Hi Trevor Jhon,
In XP OS there is a option in desktop customization to off icon in desktop. Follow the below steps to disable it or take back your icons. Right button on your desktop and then select properties. Then go to the desktop icon option and the tick the desktop icon on desktop checkbox. Hope this will help you. Good luck.
How to restore desktop icons 64 bit?
Hi Trevor!
There are two things that you can do to restore your desktop icons. If you have hidden them (and not deleted them) just go to your desktop, right-click on it, select View, and check "Show Desktop Icons".
If you deleted them, right click on your desktop, go to Personalize, select Change Desktop Icons, click on Restore Default, and click OK to exit. Then you can go to your Recycle Bin and restore the icons.
But if you permanently deleted them and can't retrieve them from the Recycle Bin, go to your Drive C:, go to Program Files, right click on each of the .exe or EXE files, and select Create Shortcut.

Hi there,
To rebuild the Icons download this command prompt file. Â
www.sevenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/245026d1355112663-icon-cache-rebuild-rebuild_icon_cache.bat
Now click on it a command prompt will appear. Follow the instructions given in the command prompt. Using this file the Icons should come back, if it does not work than you can do it manually. just copy the lines in command prompt.
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
CD /d %userprofile%AppDataLocal
DEL IconCache.db /a
shutdown /r /f /t 00
Be aware before doing this please save all the files because it will restart the computer and will rebuild the iconcache.db.
I hope this will help you to get beck your icons.
Thank you,
Riley Weaver.
