Hello,

I don't know why my Windows programs don't have icons on the desktop. It's hard for me to open a program easily because I have to find them in the Program files folder. I'm not sure if I deleted something accidentally or changed any settings. Please help me restore my desktop icons on Windows OS.

Thanks!

Dear Austin Peter,

Don't worry. The steps are easy. First, click the left button of the mouse and select properties. Now you can see a window. See the screen shot.

Now go to tab Desktop and click Customized Desktop. See the screenshot.

Now check My Computer, My Network Places, My Documents.

I am glad if your problem is solved. Best wishes. Thanks.

Hello Austin,

It seems the icons have accidentally been deleted or was cleaned up by windows if it was not used regularly. There is still hope don't worry. I have here a software that can restore the icons that you have on your desktop. The program is called Rogue killer.

This is also an anti spyware program and part of its features is to restore the icons that disappeared.

Download Rogue Killer from here. Install the program and run it.

From the Rogue Killer window, Click "Fix Shortcuts" and let the program do its job of restoring your shortcuts.
