Hello, I need to know about this for security reason. How to restrict a download to a computer to avoid any malicious software and is there a way to block them if possible? Give me some suggestions. Thank you.

How to restrict download to computer?

 

Hi,

 

If you want to restrict downloads to your computer, you can install a software like the Stop Software Installation Tool. The software will allow you to set admin password and rules to prevent softwares from being installed.

 

Alternatively, you can use the Deep Freeze software. This program can't prevent unwanted softwares from being downloaded but it will revert changes that were made once you restart your computer.

How to restrict download to computer?

If you are using windows 7 most of the time your computer is protected from automatically installing harmful software. When any program tries to modify system files windows detect that automatically and asks for your permission whether to allow the software to modify files or not. Then you can decide by whether to allow it or not.

If the files are downloaded automatically through your browser you should be able to able to restrict that by modifying your browser settings. Then the browser should ask for your permission before downloading a file to your computer.

If you have installed any downloader carefuly see whether you have applied the correct setting for the software because viruses can easily travel through such software.
