Help me I locked on my own Mac, the password is changed, or maybe I just forgot about it. So, How to retrieve a Mac dot password?

How to retrieve a Mac dot password

Hi,

When your Mac is locked and your password is changed you have to contact Apple support and inform them. It could be a possible issue with illegal access. If you just forgot the password then you can retrieve it easily.

You can contact Apple support and ask them to reset your password or you could do it on your own using the installer disk. Follow the steps below to retrieve your Mac dot password using the installer disk:

1. Insert the installer disk into your system and boot the system and keep pressing the "C" key.

2. In the window that opens, click utilities and select Reset password. See the screenshot below:

3. Select the disk where you stored the password and answer the questions. Your password will then be reset.
