How to setup cool edit fix for windows vista?

 

Hi Jaylonomarion,

 

The Program Cool Edit was informed to have bugs while running on Windows Vista. But  this can be eliminated with some little modification in application shortcut.

 

• First of all download the Cool Edit Pro from this link.
• Download and install it in your Vista PC
• Now go to the cool edit pro and create a shortcut to the desktop and then right click on the shortcut you created on the desktop.
• Choose Compatibility tab and check "run this program in compatibility mode" specifically for Windows XP SP2.
• Now if you are not logged in as administrator then login from administrator account first and restart your computer. A
• Now, after a restart, right click on the program icon and run as administrator.

Cool Edit has some compatibility issue with Vista. To fix it, try to uninstall Cool Edit and then go to your Control Panel and ensure that the User Account Control or the UAC is disabled before you attempt to install Cool Edit again in Vista. Restart your computer after turning the UAC off and then re-install it back. This is because UAC is treating Cool Edit as a threat that is why you are having issues on installing it on Vista.
