How to share internet connection between window 7 and ubuntu using VMware
It is a common error, don't worry about it. There can be many errors due to which you are facing this problem. Different ways to fix this problem are given below:-
Install and try newer version of VMware.
Many times NAT configuration creates many problems like the one which you are facing, instead of using NAT, try to bridge connection between two networks, bridging the connection will help the NIC with VMware to get LAN IP.
Or try to disable the VMware virtual Ethernet adapter, and enable it again and then see if the problem is solved.
OR
Try to run VMware in compatibility mode.

How to share internet connection between window 7 and ubuntu using VMware
Sharing internet connection between Microsoft Windows 7 and Ubuntu is just simply enabling the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) service in your Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. If you enable the ICS in your windows 7 operating system, your computer works as a router on your network. Windows 7 operating system will supply the internet request of the Ubuntu no need for the third party libraries or applications. Be sure that your network adapter in your Ubuntu operating system is configured as DHCP client. Your Windows 7 will serve as the DHCP server for your Ubuntu OS.
ICS configuration is available here in techyv, just have a time for searching the method.
Please be informed that ICS is not available in Windows 7 Home Basic edition.
