Yesterday, I have encountered this error message on my PC.
I was attempting to upgrade from a Windows 98. I was just confused regarding this one.
What does this message means?
And how should I troubleshoot this kind of error?

How to solve if NTLDR is missing
Â
Hi Kim,
To solve this problem you will need to have your Emergency Repair disk so that you will be able to run the system console. Do not forget to change the settings in your BIOS you boot from CD Drive first before anywhere else. After you have gotten your Recovery Console to run simply follow the steps on the Recovery console and everything should be ok. If that still did not repair the problem, one way of retrieving the files that you need is to take out the hard drive from your computer and plug it into another computer system and set your hard drive as a slave drive. Setting your computer system as a slave will let you have access to your files and you will be able to transfer any important files that you need before formatting your drive.
