Hello TechyV buddies!
I am having some problem with Microsoft word.
The old versions of Microsoft have some weakness on their security parameters. Files are easy attacked and corrupted by viruses. And this Error comes out: “This document may be corrupt.
To preserve the contents: Choose Select All from the Edit menu, then choose Copy from the Edit menu.
Create a new document, then choose Paste from the Edit menu”.
This error only happens in MS word 2000.
How can I solve this kind of issue?
Can anyone help me solving this?
I will really appreciate the effort in helping.
Thank you!

Hallo Cromwell,
To resolve that issue with MS Word, you will need to modify the registry using the following steps:
Note that using making incorrect changes to the Registry Editor may cause serious problems that may force you to reinstall your operating system.
-
On your computer, on the Windows Start menu, you will need to click Run.

And then in the Open box, you will need to type regedit and then click OK.
-
After that you will select the following key in the Windows registry:
-

How To Solve MS Word Error “This Document May Be Corrupt”
Hello,
This error in word is mainly caused due to list templates which are a container for all numbering schemes.
If problem is not in list templates then you have to do advance repairing of a file which can be done by using a Hotfix “Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a)” released by Microsoft recently. It can be downloaded and install by Microsoft store, But before that you need to make changes to Windows registry.
But first do create a backup of windows registry by following procedure,
-
Click start and then click “Run”
-
Type “regedit” and run it.
-
Select the following registry key,
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice9.0WordOptions
-
Now go to Edit and click “New” then Dword Value and then type this value as a registry value,
Value Name: LTOverflowRecovery
Value: 1
Now exit and test your files.
Hope it helps!!
