How to solve net usershare error 255

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and I have realized that when I create a folder and want to share it I receive an error message “There was an error while getting the sharing information” which I have attached below.

How can I fix this?

Error: There was an error while getting the sharing information

‘net usershare’ returned 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory/var/lib/samba/usershares. Error No such file or directory. Please ask your system administrator to enable user sharing.

How to solve net usershare error 255

The following error message ‘net usershare’ returned 255:’ has occurred in you system because an information sharing package is missing from your system as a result of which the system here “root” cannot locate the package.The solution to your problem is to install the package by the following command:-“ sudo apt-get install nautilus-share” without the quotes type it in the Terminal.
